We took the Becoming New Parents class and both felt that it was beneficial and put us a bit more at ease. Sue was very knowledgeable and the environment was very welcoming and comfy. Would definitely recommend to anyone on the fence about taking any classes at Family Picnic!

Family Picnic’s playgroup is an oasis for my daughter and me. My daughter was shy in the beginning but thankfully to the welcoming environment of Family Picnic, eventually she opened up and started interacting with others! Also, I was able to make good friends here which meant a lot especially when you’re new to the neighborhood and also new to being a mother!
Rebecca is awesome and so personable with you and the babies! My (almost) one year old and I attend the baby play group weekly and it’s a cute atmosphere and good opportunity for our babies to socialize and play with all the toys- as well as for the caregivers to get to know one another in the neighborhood. I’m very happy to have Family Picnic nearby!
I attended a music class at Chicago Family Picnic with my infant and we absolutely loved it! It was such a cozy, welcoming space and a wonderful place to bond with my son and other parents.
We absolutely love coming to Family Picnic! We first attended a class when my baby was 6 months old. She is 13 months now and we enjoy coming every week. Rebecca leads an awesome play group and Ms. Julia's music class is wonderful!
We loved our birth class with Sue - we learned a lot and felt as prepared as we could be for the labor experience. We added-on breastfeeding and baby care classes which also helped us feel ready and gave us great information both in class, and in the written materials / videos provided. We also really appreciated the lactation consult home visit from Sue a few days after we got home from the hospital - it made us feel encouraged and confident that we were on the right track. I appreciated the balance of providing concrete information and resources, as well as emphasis on trusting our instincts and responding to our child and the individual situations. I'd describe the whole experience with Family Picnic as empowering - all I could want as a new parent!
I would highly recommend Picnic to anyone looking for a great experience in their birthing journey. Sue and Rebecca were incredibly responsive and caring from the moment I reached out to discuss their classes. The birthing classes were extremely valuable and enjoyable. Sue and Rebecca are both very knowledgeable and went over and above, more than once, to discuss a personal concern and following up with resources to support us. Sue provided an in home lactation consultation too and is an absolute wealth of knowledge and experience in teaching on the subject. I can not speak more highly of Family Picnic and am telling all my friends!
